Statue of Neptune in Virginia Beach

Is this really the only way they could get a turtle into the sculpture? It seems so demeaning.

Pretty much the scene around town.

After walking for about 2 miles, I found this seafood restaurant which also served sushi. Turned out to be excellent sushi. I'll have to keep this in mind the next time I'm here. Posted by Picasa

No Cursing

Virginia Beach has one of these signs on about each block of Atlantic Ave. On both sides of the street.
I guess they had a budget surplus at some point. Posted by Picasa

Oceanfront Room

Courtyard Marriott on the Ocean. As you can see, the desk doesn't face the TV, but luckily the TV swivels. Also, WIRELESS! Posted by Picasa

Pho Is Good

Yummy Pho! This nice little restaurant was about half a mile from my hotel and they were even nice enough to give me some tea while I waited, which turned out to be less than 5 minutes. Somehow, the broth turned almost-tepid by the time I got back to the hotel room, but it was still tasty!

I know I shouldn't make fun, but come on, it's on the front door of the restaurant.

No Free Parking ANYTIME

So here's the lot I have to park in for the client I'm currently visiting. It costs $3.75 to park all day, which usually isn't a big deal because any parking is reimbursed by my company, but who has $3.75 to park, let alone $3.75 every single day?

Those little slots in the second picture are where you put money for each parking slot. No attendant, no change, $3.75. Tomorrow, I'm paying in nickels.

Newport News

Here's my Marriott Courtyard room. Nice big king-sized bed. The nice thing about Courtyard rooms is that they usually put the desk and TV in such a position that I can watch TV while working on the computer without having to switch back and forth between the two. Beds aren't quite as nice as W or Westin rooms, but then again, not much is.
I'm here until Tuesday, doing a "check-up" for a client down here. Unfortunately, there site I'm heading to has very little in the way of choices for lunch. Last time I was here, I had a choice of an internal "cafeteria" (with the choice between ham, turkey or chicken salad sandwiches) or the hotdog stand outside. Posted by Picasa
